Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

The Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a practical course of study, covering a broad range of IFRS topics considered essential for those working in accountancy, finance and business.

Structure 

The qualification is structured to develop the candidates’ knowledge and understanding of the development and scope of Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their ability to apply International Financial Reporting Standards.

The Diploma in IFRS is tested by a written, closed-book, three-hour exam.

This qualification is not currently available in the UK. 

What will I learn?

On completion of the Diploma in IFRS you will:

  • Understand the history of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRSF) and how its work has developed.
  • Have a broad understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and how they are applied.
  • Understand the fundamental principles of IFRS on a standard-by-standard basis.
  • Be able to explain how to use IFRS in practice.

Exemptions

On successful completion of the Diploma in IFRS exemptions are available from the AIA Professional Qualification in Paper 1 Financial Accounting 1 and Paper 11 Financial Accounting 2.
