Certificate in Accountancy

The AIA Certificate in Accountancy is the entry level point for the AIA's professional qualification.

Structure

The Certificate in Accountancy is taught at Foundation Degree standard and includes six exam papers, organised into two modules and tested by a 3 hour written exam.

Module A

1 Financial Accounting 1
2 Business Economics
3 Management Accounting 1

Module B

4 Company Law
5 Auditing & Taxation
6 Information Processing

What will I learn?

On completion of this qualification you will:

  • Have a practical understanding of the techniques, principles and knowledge which form the basis of accounting.
  • Be able to apply your knowledge in the workplace in controlled, supervised, and routine situations, and
  • Have the ability to identify and use relevant understanding, methods and skills to address broadly-defined, complex problems.

Exam/exemption fees - £420

*The application fee includes an administration fee and your first year’s annual subscription fee of £65. Students in Hong Kong are also required to pay a £15 Branch subscription fee. The figures are based on successful completion at first attempt; this price does not include the fee for any resits required.

Am I eligible?

You must have 2 A Level passes plus 3 GCSE passes (in five separate subjects including Maths and English) or equivalent. You can find out more about our entry requirements and exemptions.
